The Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District will be hosting a series of LCAP (Local Control Accountability Plan) Webinars to solicit input from parents, students, staff and community members.
In 2013, the state of California adopted a new formula for funding public education called the Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF). When fully implemented, the LCFF will allocate funds based on specific student needs and will allow maximum flexibility at a local level.
As part of the LCFF, school districts must develop, adopt, and annually update a three-year plan called The Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP).
The LCAP is to be written and developed with feedback and input from community stakeholder groups. Staff, parents and students will be asked to provide input on eight different components of the LCAP.
The next webinar is scheduled for Dec. 17 at 6 pm. Stakeholders are invited to provide input into the LCAP revision by completing a post-webinar survey. The link to the webinar and survey can be found on the district’s website at smmusd.adobeconnect.com/lcap14-15.
The first webinar was held on November 13 and can be found at smmusd.adobeconnect.com/p1hx9k225fv?launcher=false&fcsContent=true&pbMode=normal.
