Doctors who work at UCLA’s Ashe Student Health & Wellness Center and colleagues at three other UC campuses will hold a one-day strike tomorrow to protest what they call unfair labor practices.
According to the Union of American Physicians and Dentists, the strike will be the first in 25 years for fully licensed physicians. Demonstrators are expected at the Ashe Student Health & Wellness Center, starting about 7:30 a.m. tomorrow.
Picketers also are expected at student heath centers at UC Berkeley, UC Davis and UC San Diego.
The union represents about 150 doctors who work in UC student health centers. UC doctors joined in 2013 but have been negotiating for more than a year on their first labor contract.
