Santa Monica police arrested a fugitive from Nashville, Tennessee wanted for rape on Wednesday, April 8.
Officers of the Santa Monica Police Department were working in conjunction with an organization called West Coast Care in order to assist homeless people get back to their family and friends located across the nation.
The officers were introduced to a man at 9:45 am who was telling them that he was very excited about being part of this program and he really looked forward to going to either Arizona or Washington State.
The officers were equally excited after this man gave them his information because they discovered that this individual had an active warrant out for his arrest from the Nashville Police Department for the crime of rape.
The 42-year-old man was thus arrested and taken to the Santa Monica Jail in order to await extradition to Nashville, Tennessee, for the fugitive warrant.
Bail, was of course, denied.
