Santa Monica Public Library is envisioning the future of the organization through the process of strategic planning.
A major focus of this effort is to solicit input and engage a wide range of stakeholders within the Santa Monica community in order to ensure that the Library’s newly formed plan will meet the needs of the community it serves.
During the month of April, public forums will be held at all library locations and all community members are invited to share their hopes and aspirations to determine the Library’s future.
— Wednesday, April 8, 6 pm-7:30 pm, Ocean Park Library, 2601 Main St.
— Thursday, April 9, 10:30 am-12 pm, Main Library, 601 Santa Monica Blvd.
— Thursday, April 9, 7 pm-8:30 pm, Montana Library, 1704 Montana Ave.
— Wednesday, April 22, 6:30 pm-8 pm, Fairview Library, 2101 Ocean Park Blvd.
— Thursday, April 23, 5:30 pm-7 pm, Pico Library, 2201 Pico Blvd.
According to BusinessDictionary.com, strategic planning is “a systematic process of envisioning a desired future, and translating this future into broadly defined goals or objectives and a sequence of steps to achieve them.”
Once the Library’s strategic plan is created and implemented, it will serve as a roadmap for the Santa Monica Public Library over the course of the next three years.
