Two men described by authorities as South Los Angeles gang members were facing felony robbery charges Friday after their arrests on suspicion of stealing $3,000 worth of perfume from a Rolling Hills Estates Abercrombie & Fitch store.
The suspects entered the store about 7:30 p.m. on April 8 and allegedly “threatened a store employee with physical harm if he attempted to intervene,” according to a statement from the Los Angeles County sheriff’s Lomita Station.
“Similar incidents were reported in the cities of Lakewood, Redondo Beach and Santa Monica,” according to the statement. “During each incident, bits and pieces of evidence, including witness statements, were collected.”
Detectives identified the suspects and on Wednesday served a pair of search warrants and arrested Kevon Jordan, 18, and Maynor Antonio Douglas, 20, authorities said.
“Evidence linking the suspects to the crime was recovered,” according to the sheriff’s department.
