Gilbert’s El Indio at 2526 Pico Blvd. in Santa Monica was opened on May 20, 1974, and is still run by the same family. Now the children and grandchildren of the original owners are the managers and still serve delicious authentic Mexican family-style meals.

Center, which featured over 100 booths where community members shared advice and
