Serafina King Brings Home Bronze From 2015 Parapan American Games:

Serafina King is presented her bronze medial on Canadian television.

Santa Monica swimmer Serafina King, 17, returned from the 2015 Parapan American Games on Sunday with a bronze medal in hand. The games were held in Toronto, Canada.

King is an S10 swimmer with a partially paralyzed right arm. This is her second summer representing the United Sates in international competition. Last summer she was a member of Team USA at the Para Pan Pacific Swimming Championships where she took the bronze in the S10 Women’s 100m backstroke.

This past week in Toronto she went a best time in the 50m, 100m, 400m freestyle and the 100m backstroke. She took the bronze medal position in the 400m freestyle.

She’s now a contender for the team that will represent the United States at the 2016 Paralympic Games in Rio. She trains with Alpha Aquatics and is coached by Venezuelan Olympian Octavio Alesi, and American Olympian Rada Owens.
