A field of approximately 13,000 runners has registered for today’s second annual Avengers Super Heroes Half Marathon, which will be run through the Disneyland Resort and surrounding areas.
The 13.1-mile course, billed by organizers as “the most extraordinary course on Earth,” begins on Disneyland Drive, passes Downtown Disney and goes through Disney California Adventure Park and Disneyland.
Runners will pass the Christ Cathedral in Garden Grove and The Outlets at Orange shopping center in Orange and run through Angel Stadium. The course will pass Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel and conclude near the Disneyland Hotel.
Avengers characters will be along the course to support the runners.
The race concludes a series of weekend events that also included the inaugural Captain American 10K, Avengers Super Heroes 5K, and races of 400 meters or less for children 8 years old and under.
