The Santa Monica Nativity Scenes Committee says it’s not too late to check out its Nativity Scenes.
This year’s display of 13 life-size scenes depicting events surrounding the birth of the Lord Jesus Christ will be available for viewing through Epiphany, Jan. 6, at Mount Olive Lutheran Church at 14th and Ocean Park Boulevard.
The display starts along Maple Street one block north of Ocean Park Boulevard west of 14th Street; it ends along 14th Street.
To drive past from Ocean Park Boulevard, turn north on Euclid (13th), then right on Maple and continue along Maple to the Scenes; then at the stop sign, turn right cautiously onto 14th Street.
To park and walk past, free parking is available in the church parking lot for the Scenes; enter off 14th Street.
The Nativity Scenes Committee said it is deeply grateful to the people of Mount Olive Lutheran Church and Pastor Eric Shafer for providing a home for the Nativity Scenes for the third consecutive year.
The Nativity Scenes is undertaking an ambitious effort over the next two years to rebuild all the 27-year-old wooden booths that house the 13 scenes.
The Nativity Scenes exists solely through the support of faithful friends and community members. Organizers says donations will ensure the Scenes will continue.
Donations may be made by credit card online at www.SantaMonicaNativityScenes.org or by mailing a check to the Nativity Scenes Committee, P.O. Box 0648, Santa Monica, CA 90406. Donations are not tax deductible.
