Assistance League Installs New Board:

Assistance League

A new board of directors was installed Wednesday at the Assistance League of Santa Monica’s Annual Board Luncheon held at the California Yacht Club.

The Board of Directors for 2016-2017 are Anne Salenger, Linda Avdul, Barbara Parker, Claudia Flanders, Thelma Orosco, Gina Peled, Barbara Feick, Debra Granfield, Jeannine Richards, Gloria Fowler, Angela Grillo, and Nancy Wender.

The Assistance League of Santa Monica, established in 1937, is a non-profit organization made up of member-volunteers who assist children and families in the Santa Monica Bay area through a number of philanthropic programs.

Its programs include; backpacks with school supplies, camp scholarships, college scholarships, emergency school clothing, puppet shows on bullying and divorce, teddy bears for trauma victims, and vision and dental care.

Programs are funded through donations and sales from the league’s thrift shop at 1453 15th Street in Santa Monica. The store opens 11am – 3pm, Monday to Saturday.
