This year, the Veterans Support Team consisting of members of the Santa Monica Elks, Santa Monica Emblem, Knights of Columbus, Venice American Legion, and the Sunset Masonic Lodge delivered fifteen Welcome Home baskets to the Ocean Park Community Center (OPCC) in Santa Monica, This is one of the new ways that proceeds from the First Friday dinners help support our Veterans besides providing winter coats. The baskets are distributed by OPCC to veterans as they transition into their own housing. They contain a variety of household items including cleaning supplies, towels, plates, cups, bowls and flatware as well as personal hygiene products such as shampoo, soap, toothpaste and a toothbrush.
