The Santa Monica Chamber of Commerce will celebrate its 91st Annual Installation Dinner on Sunday June 15 at the Fairmont Miramar Hotel and Bungalows.
This yearly event, which consists of 500 business stakeholders, community and civic leaders, will kick off with a reception under the historic Fig Tree in the hotel’s front walk, just as it has in previous years. Guests will have the opportunity to enjoy the event and bid on select items from local businesses at the Silent Auction as well as purchase a chance to win exceptional raffle prizes, the Chamber explained.
“For 91 years the members of Santa Monica Chamber have come together to celebrate the strength of the business community in our city and to thank our volunteer chair and board for their dedication in driving the mission of the Chamber forward,” said Santa Monica Chamber of Commerce President Laurel Rosen.
June’s party is set to continue into the Starlight Ballroom for a four-course dinner made with farm fresh, local ingredients by Fig’s Executive Chef Yousef Ghalaini, welcoming Yesenia V. Monsour of Kaiser Permanente as the new Chamber Chairman.
“I am thrilled for Yesenia as she takes over as Chairman,” said the Chamber’s Assistant Vice President Julia Ladd. “She is very qualified and will bring strategic leadership to the Chamber Board”.
Monsour shared her excitement to be working with The Chamber.
“Businesses are crucial to the wonderful services and amenities that Santa Monica residents enjoy,” Monsour said. “It’s important that the members of the Chamber come together to celebrate those in our community who work tirelessly every day, take risks, pursue their dreams, create jobs and contribute to our local economy”.
Also being honored at the event are exemplary business leaders, including Roy E. Naylor Achievement Award winner Iao Katagiri, Director of Community Relations at RAND, and Bob Gabriel Community Service Business Award winner Dee Menzies. Head of Carlthorp School.
The event’s lead sponsors this year are Kaiser Permanente and Santa Monica Place.
