City of Santa Monica Launches #CarFreeFriday on October 7th:

Car Free Friday

Starting Friday, October 7, Santa Monica residents, workers, and businesses will kick off the very first Car Free Friday by giving cars a day off and using sustainable ways to get to work, school, or happy hour. By providing incentives, tips, and support for people to walk, bike, train, or bus once a week, the City of Santa Monica hopes to make it easy and safe for people to make the shift to being car-free and carefree more often.

Ways for People to Get Involved:

· Get friends, family, students, or customers excited about Car Free Friday. Check out this toolkit for ways to get your team involved!

· Put up a GoSaMo window sticker at your favorite business to help customers navigate the closest BBB stop, Expo station, or Breeze station. Request a sticker by filling out this form

· Organize your own local tryathlon –an adventure by foot, bike, or transit.

· Share the #CarFreeFriday Facebook event and invite your community to be a part of a healthier future in Santa Monica.

Ready to take on the challenge? Follow along on social media using #GoSaMo and #CarFreeFriday to make sure you have all of the info you need to get going.
