Intermittent Signal Outage at Montana Avenue & 7th Street

The traffic signal at Montana Avenue at 7th Street is experiencing intermittent outages. It unpredictably transitions from regular operation to red flashing light, four-way stop operation. The signal has reached the end of its life after constant operation for the last 40 years.  A new signal has been ordered and is expected to arrive in April 2017 or sooner.

In the meantime, we need the community’s help in reducing the risk that comes from a malfunctioning signal. We ask that the motoring public, pedestrians, and bicyclists proceed with heightened awareness and caution through the intersection at Montana Avenue and 7thStreet. We appreciate the community’s patience as we deliver a lasting solution. Temporary signs are being affixed to the signal post to alert residents to caution residents.
