Santa Monica celebrated its green space with a day filled with openings and celebration on Saturday Feb. 25.
The day kicked off with the grand opening of Ishihara Park, a new 2.35-acre neighborhood park created to provide a buffer between the Exposition Light Rail Maintenance Facility and the adjoining neighborhood, and included the dedication of Stewart Street Park to Gandara Park; the re-opening of the northeast portion of Reed Park; and completion of an innovative stormwater harvesting and reuse project at Los Amigos Park.
A ton of dignitaries were on hand and there was “family-friendly activities, entertainment, photo booths, light refreshments, and more,” according to the City.
