Senator Ben Allen Speaks to LA Chamber of Commerce About Teacher Shortage

Senator Ben Allen

Senator Ben Allen (D – Santa Monica) spoke to the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce’s Education & Workforce Council about the status of California’s teacher shortage, early childhood education, career and technical education, the achievement gap and immigrant students in higher education. The meeting was attended by over 50 business, non-profit and education leaders.

“Our priorities must be to defend the welcoming atmosphere of our world class education system, expand access to career and technical education, work to overcome our teacher shortage, and help children be ready to learn before they enter a kindergarten classroom,” said Senator Allen.

Senator Allen serves as the chair of the California State Senate Committee on Education.
