The Alzheimer’s Association recently announced first long-tern, large-scale U.S. clinical trial of a multi-dimensional lifestyle intervention: The US POINTER Study, a $20 million, two-year clinical trial to test the ability of a multi-dimensional lifestyle intervention to prevent cognitive decline and dementia in 2,500 healthy older adults at increased risk for cognitive decline.
The director of scientific research is to discuss this and the most recent research, prevention and care initiatives related to Alzheimer’s here in Santa Monica, having already first been presented at the Alzheimer’s Association International Conference® (AAIC) held in London, England back in July.
The event will take place at the public library at 601 Santa Monica Blvd. on August 10, from 6-7:30 pm.
