St. Monica High School Names New Principal

James Spellman has been named the new principal of St. Monica Catholic High School, as the school starts a new year on August 21.

Prior to joining St. Monica as principal, he was assistant principal at Immaculate Heart High School & Middle School in Los Angeles from 2011 to 2017. Spellman has presided over the achievement of quantitative operational and performance goals through energetic, hands-on and solution driven leadership. He has spearheaded leadership, faculty, staff, student and parent collaborations, and inspired the implementation of lifelong learning values and behaviors.

“I am excited to join St. Monica, a school that lives its mission and creates a cohesive educational experience for a diverse range of learners who graduate prepared for success in college and beyond,” Spellman said. “Within the safe and inclusive community of SMCHS, it is my belief that all of our students can and will achieve their highest potential.”
