Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer and the second leading cause of cancer deaths among women. The American Cancer Society attacks cancer from all angles through its groundbreaking cancer research, free patient and caregiver services, and early detection and prevention education programs.
Thousands of cancer survivors, families, volunteers, local supporters will gather at the Santa Monica Pier for the American Cancer Society’s non-competitive 5K Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Santa Monica walk up Ocean Ave. in solidarity with breast cancer patients everywhere. Festivities include an appearance of Fifth Harmony’s Normani Kordei, survivor speakers, music, entertainment, a survivor tent and more.
The event begins on Saturday, October 28, at 8:00 am. The opening ceremony begins at 9:30, with the walk itself starting at 10:00 on the Santa Monica Pier, just south of the merry-go-round.
