Stabbing on Pico and 26th – Local Man Arrested

Neighbors noticed roped-off streets and sirens Saturday as police and fire officers attended a crime scene that involved a stabbing.

On June 2, 2018 at about 6:04 p.m. the Santa Monica Police Department (SMPD) responded to a radio call for service of a stabbing that occurred in the area of 26th Street and Pico Blvd. Upon arrival, officers located a victim suffering from a stab wound to the neck area. Officers provided critical medical aid. Santa Monica Fire Department Paramedics responded and continued to render medical aid. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The victim underwent surgery and remains hospitalized in stable condition.
A possible suspect was located on 28th Street in Santa Monica and taken into custody. The suspect is identified as Cosgrove, Christopher, a 32 year old male from Santa Monica,. Cosgrove has been arrested for 664/187(a) PC – Attempt Homicide. The case will be presented to the Los Angeles County DIstrict Attorney’s Office – Airport Division for filing consideration June 5.
