The Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District (SMMUSD) Board of Education will hold a special board meeting tomorrow night (August 9) at 5 p.m. at the district office board room located at 1651 16th Street.
“The purpose of the meeting is for the board to approve a revision to adopted budget. As per Education Code, such revisions must be done within 45 days of the Governor signing the state budget,” the SMMUSD Board of Education wrote in a press release.
On the agenda for the meeting are various contracts the SMMUSD Board of Education has pending with independent contractors. These include a potential $42,000 contract with the UCLA Science Project for UCLA professional development providers to partner with SMMUSD to build the internal capacity to support teachers in transitioning to Next Generation Science Standards.
Also on the agenda is a $26,980 proposal to Alta Environmental for the slatted John Adams Middle School gym floor replacement project and field replacement project.
