Respected Westside Eatery serves last meal Sunday

Wilshire Restaurant in Santa Monica is closed as of last Sunday.
On Monday, May 10, LA Eater reported that the renown Westside eatery located for the past 14-years on 2454 Wilshire Boulevard in Santa Monica had served their last meal on Sunday. While the owners of the restaurant have not released a formal announcement yet, LA Eater said that staff and friends of Wilshire Restaurant posted goodbyes on social media over the weekend.
The news may not come as a surprise to followers of the Westside dining scene. In April 2019, local broker Elan Kermani circulated a pdf document showing the space housing Wilshire Restaurant and the restaurant itself as being for sale. The site’s rent was listed at $18,835 per month. The restaurant’s asking price was $595,000.
Because both the space and the restaurant’s assets are included together in the sale, it appears that diners will still be able to enjoy what was Wilshire Restaurant’s popular patio, elegant indoor dining space and perhaps even their delicious menu.
