Man suffers arterial stabbing

After a man was found bleeding profusely with a laceration around his neck and brachial artery on Wednesday near the Santa Monica Public Library, the Santa Monica Police Department (SMPD) have arrested two suspects involved in the stabbing incident.
On November 6, 2019, at approximately 7 p.m., SMPD officers were in the area of 700 block of Santa Monica Boulevard when they observed a male bleeding “profusely” from his arm.
“Officers on scene provided emergency medical aid in order to prevent significant blood loss. The male subject had a laceration to his neck and a significant laceration to his brachial artery,” said SMPD Lieutenant Candice Cobarrubias.
According to Cobarrubias, the victim was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment and is in stable condition.
SMPD’s Criminal Investigation Division was able to identify the two suspects involved in the stabbing incident and an arrest was made around 1:30 p.m. Thursday afternoon.
Because the investigation is on-going, the Santa Monica Police Department is not releasing the names of the two subjects taken into custody. More information will be forthcoming as the investigation continues.
