A longtime Santa Monica cafe has shut down after two decades serving hungry diners breakfast and lunch staples.
Notes posted on the window of Lazy Daisy Cafe Santa Monica – located on Pico Boulevard near Cloverfield Boulevard – announced the restaurant’s closure. For 20 years the restaurant was a favorite for hearty breakfast, brunch and lunch staples served in a quaint indoor-outdoor space.
“Thank you so much for your business for [the] last 20 years,” reads the notes.
According to a post on Facebook group Residocracy Santa Monica, the employees were not notified and showed up to work to find the notice of the closure. The Santa Monica Mirror has not been able to verify this and has been unable to contact the restaurant.
Lazy Daisy Cafe Brentwood, which has not been affiliated with the Santa Monica location for years, will remain open.
