Santa Monica College (SMC), the SMC Foundation, the City of Santa Monica (through its “We are Santa Monica” initiative), Boys and Girls Club of Santa Monica, and Community Corporation of Santa Monica will be giving away free Thanksgiving groceries to over 1,430 families and students in need.

“Giving Thanks(giving)” 2020’s recipients are required to register in advance; they will receive the makings of a complete Thanksgiving meal, including fresh turkeys, produce, dinner rolls, non-alcoholic beverages and a pumpkin pie.

The SMC Foundation has raised $35,460 of the $50,000 fundraising goal on behalf of all event partners. To donate, go to santamonicacollege.org/thanksgiving

“This Thanksgiving is like no other. Santa Monica College students have been struggling with food insecurity. Students in need of assistance include foster youth, Veterans, DREAMers, disabled, and single parents living at or below the poverty line,” reads the Foundation’s website. “Please help us ensure they can share a delicious, bountiful Thanksgiving Feast with their family or friends.”
