39,000+ square foot office proposed for 1650 Euclid in Santa Monica

A three story creative office complex is planned near Memorial Park in Santa Monica.
The project, known as Euclid 1650, is proposed for 1650 Euclid Street, between Olympic Boulevard and Colorado Avenue near Memorial Park.
Plans recently submitted to the Santa Monica Architectural Review Board by developer Redcar Properties call for a ground-up three-story creative office building over two levels of subgrade parking. RAC Design Build and James Corner Field Operations are designing the project.
The proposed building would be lifted above the street on a podium and include 39,380 square feet of floor area, divided over the two wings of the building. A variety of interior space allows for multiple tenant configurations, providing for future flexibility, according to plans.
Below grade, there would be two levels of parking (approximately 20,000 square feet each) which the developer says may utilize parking stackers to optimize the parking within the space of the project site.
Plans also call for a rooftop garden, clerestories, and landscaping “scaled and shaped to blur the lines between inside and outside. It leverages views, prevailing winds, and shade to create outdoor comfort and spectacle.”
The developer, Redcar Properties is also currently building a smaller 11,000-square-foot project nearby at of 15th Street and Broadway Avenue.
No vote on the design concept is set at the time of publishing.
