New Office Complex Underway at Former Santa Monica Tow Yard Site

1650 Euclid Street development from Redcar Properties will include three stories of office space

A new office complex is set to rise in Santa Monica, just west of Memorial Park.

Redcar Properties, a local real estate development firm, has received the green light for construction on a former automobile tow yard site located at 1650 Euclid Street.

The half-acre property will be transformed into a three-story office building spanning roughly 39,389 square feet above subterranean parking accommodations for up to 131 vehicles.

RAC Design Build and James Corner Field Operations are leading the design team behind the contemporary exterior and large rooftop deck featured in renderings of the project.

Plans include two separate wings connected by a glass bridge with setbacks above the second and third floors.

Opinion: SMa.r.t. Busy as a Bee: Busy as a bee

The Busy Bee Hardware and Dry Goods store has been a fixture in our city for longer than any of us can remember. In fact that store, now just called Busy Bee Hardware, moved to its present location in 1922. The wood plank floor has been walked on by generations of Santa Monica residents seeking a washer, a burlap bag, a good hammer…it is, most importantly, that simple shop where everyone knows your name.
