Rock Your Body and Mind in LA

While living in LA is amazing it can also be stressful. We might be stressed because of our long commute. We might also be stressed because of working long hours at work. Perhaps we are stressed because we are finding ourselves. In any case it is important to consider how we can ensure that we rock our minds and bodies. This can take many forms. We might explore a sober lifestyle, consider rehab, talk to a therapist (like everyone in LA does), or get outside and make sure we are physically fit. By considering all the ways we can make healthy choices we can create our own personal Hollywood ending and ride off into the sunset with a smile on our faces.

There are several reasons to appreciate LA. Apart from the stunning landscapes, historic monuments, and ideal weather, there are numerous activities that are always available to us. For many of us we are looking for activities we can do while sober. People choose sober living for several reasons. Some people dislike the taste of alcohol, others have witnessed friends or family battle with addiction and do not want to take the risk, and still others are underage, have health conditions that prevent them from drinking, or are allergic to alcohol.

Fortunately, many of the fun activities found in LA do not require alcohol to enjoy. While most people associate LA with beach days, kayaking the LA River is a must-do for nature enthusiasts. Los Angeles is also known for its fantastic flea markets. Whether our motive is sustainable shopping or finding one-of-a-kind treasures, visiting Melrose Trading Post, Rose Bowl Flea Market, or Silverlake Flea is a great way to spend the day. Two Bit Circus, located on Mateo Street, is another terrific place to spend a day. There is something about going to the circus and feeling like a kid again that makes us feel good. This tech-inspired circus is jam-packed with interactive entertainment, including arcade games, immersive chambers, and even robots.

Simply explained, detox is the process of purging our bodies of toxins and impurities. Detoxification is sometimes necessary because the damaging, addictive presence of drugs or alcohol in our body must be removed to achieve balance and healing for our long-term recovery. We might feel detox is intimidating if we have a history of alcohol or drug addiction, but this does not have to be the case. We can succeed in our detox by attending a specialized detox facility such as a detox for women, or a front-line detox program for doctors, nurses, cops, and firefighters. There are three main components of behavioral health treatment: psychiatry, individual (or couples/family) psychotherapy, and group psychotherapy. Here in LA there are many clinics available to us, for example UCLA Health Behavioral Health Associates (BHA) help support our emotional well-being. Psychiatric treatment is collaborative between a primary care provider, a psychiatrist, and other treatment members. Treatment may involve referrals for individual or group therapy as well as more intensive treatment options if deemed beneficial for us. After meeting initial therapy goals, we might get a referral to a community provider to continue our psychotherapy.

How To Rock Physical Fitness In LA

Do we want to spend more time outside? Are we tired of gym fees? We’ve come to the right place! LA County offers sixty parks. There’s something for everyone in the family, from fitness zones to yoga courses to strolling groups. We can even join our local park’s walking group. Walking groups are an excellent method to get fit and remain motivated with others. Overall parks are ideal for exercising and staying fit. Exercise strengthens the immune system and prevents illnesses such as heart disease, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and obesity. Because of the numerous established advantages it delivers, health care experts sometimes refer to exercise as a “miracle” or “wonder” medicine.
