Owner of Tiny Santa Monica Home Gets Attention for Improving State of Mind

The Owner Previously Paid More Than Double Her Current Rate to Live In NYC

By Zach Armstrong

Sung Yoo, a designer and entrepreneur who owns the children’s toy brand “Big Little Universe”, has received extensive media coverage for paying $1,600 every month to reside in her 140-square-foot tiny Santa Monica home.

Designed by architects at Minarc Design, the property is less than a ten-minute drive from the beach and smaller than most parking spaces, according to CNBC. Previously paying $4,500 a month in her New York City apartment, Yoo told CNBC that the move to her tiny beachside home has realigned her values and become more grounded.
