Most Dangerous Intersections in Orange County

Car accidents at intersections can result in all sorts of injuries. A back, neck, or even a brain injury are among the most common types of injuries in car accidents. However, brain injuries are usually the most severe as they can come with all sorts of complications for the victim in the long term.

If you have suffered a car accident in Orange County, contact a car accident attorney. They can help you investigate the circumstances that led to your accident and establish fault. This will enable you to pursue fair compensation for your injuries and other losses.

Traffic volume, accident data, and other variables can be used to determine the most dangerous intersections in Orange County, which can ultimately improve road safety for motorists, pedestrians, and bicyclists. Here are some of the most dangerous intersections in Orange County based on accident volume data:

Chapman Av & Harbor BL

There have been 78 crashes in the Chapman Av & Harbor BL intersection in Fullerton since 2010, which resulted in 67 injured citizens. Fullerton has some of the most dangerous intersections in Orange County, garnering over 4,380 crashes, amassing a total of 4,215 injured and 22 fatalities.

Euclid St & Orangethorpe Ave

Fullerton’s Euclid St & Orangethorpe Ave intersection also has a high number of crashes. 72 collisions occurred, resulting in 74  people being injured. Fortunately, there were no fatalities. Most car accidents at intersections occur due to failure to yield the right of way, traffic conditions, and inattentive driving.

Alicia Parkway & Jeronimo Road

In Mission Viejo, the Alicia Parkway & Jeronimo Road intersection has seen over 66 crashes over the years. In 2022, a nine-car crash left five injured and one person in critical condition.

17th and Fairview

Like the intersection of Chapman and Gilbert, 17th Street and Fairview Street are used heavily by drivers, pedestrians, and cyclists who make their way between bus stops, shopping malls, or their homes.

When heavy traffic is involved, the risk of accidents is higher. 17th and Fairview is among the most dangerous intersections in Orange County due to this.

In one major accident, five people were injured, and one cyclist died. Among the wounded, two pedestrians also suffered severe injuries. The reasons many of the most serious accidents occurred were due to jaywalking, running red lights, and backing up unsafely.

Dealing with Traffic Accidents

Whether you are a pedestrian, driver, motorcyclist, or cyclist, if you have been involved in an accident in Orange County, your first priority is your health. Call authorities and an ambulance to assess and treat your injuries.

Write down information such as the contact information of eyewitnesses and the at-fault driver, plate numbers, and insurance information. Then, contact a personal injury attorney. Intersection accidents can result in severe injuries, and it might be harder to prove who was at fault.

However, with a personal injury lawyer by your side, you can rest assured that your case will be analyzed thoroughly to secure you maximum compensation.
