Truck Collides With Pedestrian, Prompting Closure for Investigation
A pedestrian was killed in an accident on Pacific Coast Highway on Friday around 6:30 a.m., as reported by CBS News. The Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station posted the following message on social media, “All lanes of PCH are shut down at Cross Creek Rd due to a vehicle vs. pedestrian fatal traffic collision. “
The entire segment of PCH was closed for five hours while the Sheriff’s Department conducted an investigation. A big rig truck hit a pedestrian who was standing on the road. Sadly, the pedestrian did not survive. The LASD press release stated, “At this time in the investigation, all evidence leads us to believe this incident is a suicide and not an accidental traffic collision; however, the investigation is ongoing.” as quoted by The Malibu Times.
According to reports, the driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene to answer questions and cooperate with the Sheriffs investigating the scene.
The highway remained closed until approximately 10:30 a.m., and the identity of the victim has not yet been released.
