Vehicle Fatally Strikes Pedestrian in Downtown Santa Monica

The Pedestrian Was Declared Deceased on Scene

A pedestrian passed away after a collision with a vehicle next to Tongva Park in Downtown Santa Monica on Monday, according to the Santa Monica Police Department. 

At around 5:30 a.m., police were dispatched to the scene of the crash at Ocean Avenue and Colorado Avenue. The driver remained at the scene (about a three-minute walk from Santa Monica Pier) and was cooperative with authorities during an investigation. The pedestrian was declared deceased on scene. 

The identity of the victim was not immediately provided. By 11:20 a.m., the scene was cleared and traffic had resumed.
