Joint Effort to Share Revenue Marks Milestone in Malibu School District Autonomy
SMMUSD and the City of Malibu have jointly announced a series of community gatherings aimed at presenting the recently disclosed tentative agreement on revenue sharing, a critical step in the formation of an autonomous Malibu Unified School District.
Scheduled for both in-person and virtual attendance, these meetings provide an opportunity for parents, staff, and community members to gain insight into the anticipated outcomes for both the future Santa Monica Unified School District and Malibu Unified School District.
The meetings will be held as follows:
- Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at 6 p.m. in the Santa Monica High School Cafeteria (600 Olympic Blvd.), hosted by the Santa Monica-Malibu Parent Teacher Association. This meeting will be conducted exclusively in-person.
Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at 6 p.m. during a special session of the SMMUSD Board of Education, to be held in a hybrid format at the District Office (1717 4th St., Santa Monica).
