Victim hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries following altercation
A man was arrested after allegedly stabbing another man during an altercation near Ocean Avenue and Colorado Avenue, according to the Santa Monica Police Department.
Officers responded to reports of a stabbing involving two men, both believed to be experiencing homelessness. Surveillance footage showed the pair walking together shortly before an argument escalated, leading one man to stab the other. The victim appeared to block the attack with his forearms.
The victim, who suffered non-life-threatening injuries, was uncooperative with officers at the scene, police said.
The suspect was located nearby and taken into custody. Police said he was in possession of a folding knife with what appeared to be blood on it.
The investigation is ongoing.
