Police Investigate Two Deaths at Brentwood Home Linked to Filmmaker Rob Reiner

Authorities Probe Deaths Discovered Inside Brentwood Home Sunday Afternoon

Los Angeles police are investigating the deaths of two people who were found inside a Brentwood residence Sunday afternoon, according to multiple law enforcement sources.

The Los Angeles Fire Department said firefighters and paramedics responded to a home on Chadbourne Avenue around 3:30 p.m., where they discovered a man and a woman dead inside the residence. The individuals were believed to be about 78 and 68 years old, officials said.

LAPD officers were dispatched shortly after firefighters requested assistance for what police described as an “ambulance death investigation,” a term used when officers are called to a scene following the discovery of a deceased person. The call occurred near the intersection of South Chadbourne Avenue and Hanover Street.

Detectives from the LAPD’s Robbery-Homicide Division were assigned to the case. Several law enforcement officials confirmed an investigation was underway but declined to provide details, citing the preliminary nature of the inquiry.

A significant police presence remained at the home into Sunday evening. Authorities did not immediately release information about the cause of death or whether the deaths were considered suspicious. No arrests had been announced as of early evening.

Property records show the home is owned by filmmaker and actor Rob Reiner, and neighbors said Reiner and his wife reside at the address. Officials have not said whether the two individuals found dead lived at the home or how they were connected to the property.

Police said the investigation remains active, and additional information will be released as it becomes available.
