A separate closure is planned for the weekend of May 2–3, when eastbound and westbound Santa Monica Boulevard near Wellesley Avenue will be reduced to one lane.

Caltrans has announced overnight lane closures and parking restrictions along State Route 2 in West Los Angeles and Echo Park as part of a major multimodal pavement improvement project.

Work in Segment A (West Los Angeles) is scheduled from Sunday, April 19, through Friday, April 24, with up to one lane closed in both directions on Santa Monica Boulevard between Bundy Drive and Federal Avenue from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. No parking will be allowed in either direction along that stretch during the same period.

A separate closure is planned for the weekend of May 2–3, when eastbound and westbound Santa Monica Boulevard near Wellesley Avenue will be reduced to one lane in each direction from 9 p.m. Saturday to 11 a.m. Sunday for bus pad replacement. No parking will be permitted in that area during those hours.

In Segment C (Echo Park), up to two lanes of northbound and southbound Glendale Boulevard between Branden Street and Allesandro Street will be closed overnight from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. between April 19 and April 24. During daytime hours (6 a.m. to 7 p.m.), up to one lane in each direction will be closed. No parking will be allowed in either direction along that stretch for the duration of the work.

The approximately $70.2 million project spans three segments of SR-2 from Centinela Avenue in Santa Monica to the SR-2 terminus in Echo Park. It includes curb, gutter, and sidewalk improvements, as well as pavement rehabilitation intended to extend the road’s lifespan and enhance safety.

Driveways to businesses will remain accessible during the closures. Motorists should expect delays and are advised to follow posted detour signs. The Big Blue Bus stop on westbound SR-2 at Bundy Drive will be temporarily relocated to Wellesley Avenue.
