Bus pad replacement work on State Route 2 to reduce traffic to one lane in each direction near Wellesley Avenue.
Motorists traveling through West Los Angeles this weekend should expect lane reductions and parking restrictions along Santa Monica Boulevard as crews conduct construction work, transportation officials said.
Caltrans announced that bus pad replacement work will take place from 9 p.m. Saturday, May 2, to 11 a.m. Sunday, May 3, along State Route 2 near Wellesley Avenue.
During construction, Santa Monica Boulevard will be reduced to one lane in each direction in the affected area. Parking will be prohibited on both sides of the street near the work zone, with signage posted in advance, officials said.
The work is part of Segment A of the broader SR-2 Multimodal Project, which spans portions of Los Angeles from Centinela Avenue to Echo Park. Officials said driveways to local businesses will remain accessible during the lane closures, though motorists should expect delays and plan accordingly.
The $70.2 million project aims to extend pavement life and improve safety along key stretches of the corridor, including segments in West Los Angeles, Hollywood and Echo Park.
