The performances will showcase the diversity and uniqueness of collaborative piano compositions performed by SMC piano students.
The Santa Monica College Piano Ensemble will present two concerts in early June featuring four-to-eight-hand piano and piano duo performances by intermediate and advanced student musicians.
The ensemble will perform at 11:15 a.m. Thursday, June 4, and at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 6, at The Edye at the Santa Monica College Performing Arts Center, located at Santa Monica Boulevard and 11th Street.
The concerts will be directed by Santa Monica College music instructor Sumy Takesue, who said audiences should “prepare to be Romanced!”
According to the college, the performances will showcase the diversity and uniqueness of collaborative piano compositions performed by SMC piano students.
Admission to the June 4 concert is free. Tickets for the June 6 afternoon performance are $10 for general admission, plus a service charge. Students with valid student identification will be admitted free.
Advance tickets may be purchased online at the college’s ticketing website. Tickets also will be available beginning 45 minutes before the performance at The Broad Stage Box Office at the SMC Performing Arts Center.
Parking will be free at the venue.
