Local Girls Seek Championship:

Samantha Greene of Santa Monica and Amanda Lisberger of Pacific Palisades are members of the Eagles 19 and under Soccer Club of Camarillo that will try for an unprecedented third national championship this summer.

No team has won more than two national titles in the 75-year history of the United States Youth Soccer championships.

Greene, who was a star at Santa Monica High, is now at Northwestern. Lisberger is at Texas.

The Eagles, who were national champions in 2004 and 2007, are currently competing in the Far West Regionals.
