Alert: Police Blotter:

I’ve Got To Get Out Of Here!

(Part One)

On Thursday, October 21, at 6:05 p.m., officers were flagged down in the 1300 block of the Third Street Promenade by an employee of a nearby clothing store. The employee told them that she had seen a woman enter a fitting room carrying two pairs of pants and also that when she had entered this fitting room, she was wearing blue jeans, but exited wearing purple ones (David Blaine understudy?) and carrying just the one pair of pants. The woman had then stood at the counter in order to pay for the one pair of pants, and at this point the store employee inquired as to whether she had any intention to pay for the purple ones that she had put on in the dressing room. At this inquiry the woman became offended, and left the store, still wearing the purple pants. The officer subsequently discovered the woman a short distance away whereupon this 61-year-old woman was placed under citizen’s arrest for the theft of the pants, and also for a probation violation. Bail is $10,000.

(Part Two)

On Saturday, October 23, at 3:54 p.m. officers received a call to go to Finn McCool’s Irish Pub, located at 2700 Main Street, in response to a woman who had left the restaurant without paying her bill. Upon arrival the staff members told the officers that the woman had enjoyed two glasses of wine, and a plate of beef stew. When the staff members presented the woman with her bill for $24.09, she got up and left the restaurant, without paying the bill. The staff desired that this woman, who incidentally is the very same one featured in the previous theft story, be placed under citizen’s arrest, and so the police went in search, locating her nearby, and did just that. This 61-year-old woman, of no fixed abode, was arrested for defrauding an innkeeper, and a probation violation. Her bail is $10,000. It appears that this woman just can’t stay in a place for long enough to avoid getting into trouble!
