Pee Wee Vikings Take Championship in Inaugural Season:

The Westside Viking youth football team took the Southern California Conference Junior Pee Wee championship with a 13-12 win over the Palos Verdes Falcons at West Torrance High School on Saturday.

Led by head coach DeAndre Parks, the Santa Monica-based Westside Vikings Pop Warner football team took the Southern California Conference Super Bowl from defending champion Palos Verdes on Saturday with a 13-12 win at West Torrance High School.

Westside is comprised of 20, nine- and 10-year olds from Santa Monica, Malibu, Venice, Inglewood and Culver City.

The Vikings will continue play in the quarterfinals of the Pop Warner West Coast Regional Championship against the Mexicali Halcones at 9 a.m. at Central Union High School in El Centro.
