The No-Name Dodgers:

The Dodgers won’t have names on their uniforms this season in a move described by owner Frank McCourt as a throwback gesture to past years in baseball.

There was a time when no major league teams had names on uniforms, but now everyone but the Dodgers do.

“It’s the name on the front that counts,” said Dodger executive Tom Lasorda. “That name is Dodgers.”Between the absence of names on uniforms and a major shakeup of the roster, fans may need to buy a program to identify the players. But the Dodgers deny that increased program sales is a motive for the decision.
