Topanga Canyon Blvd. Is Finally Open:

After several months of restricted hours and stop-and-go traffic, Topanga Canyon Boulevard is finally open and running free again 24 hours a day.

January’s record rains undermined 100 feet of the northbound lane, a half-mile south of Fernwood Pacific Drive, causing it to collapse into Topanga Creek.

During Caltrans’ reconstruction of the damaged roadway, motorists had to endure long delays, with alternating one-way traffic controlled by flagmen at the site. Many drivers were forced to find alternate routes to Pacific Coast Highway.

California Highway Patrol officers manned both ends of the Boulevard’s construction site around-the-clock during work.

During the closure, the Topanga Coalition for Emergency Preparedness (T-CEP) provided daily bulletins on its hotline number and website.
