Marina del Rey Woman, 48, Caught Stealing From Santa Monica Gap Store: APB: Mind The Gap.

On Sunday, July 8, at 6:02 p.m. officers of the Santa Monica Police Department were on foot patrol on the Third Street Promenade when they received a radio call requesting that they go to the Gap store located at 1355 Third Street Promenade, in order to investigate a theft suspect who had been detained by the loss prevention agents at the store.

When the officers arrived at the store they spoke with the loss prevention agents and discovered that the woman had entered the store carrying a large purse.

The woman had then selected a number of items and put them into the large purse.

The woman then exited the store without making any effort to pay for the items that she had put into the large purse.

The loss prevention agents had then apprehended her and returned with her to the store, subsequently summoning the police.

The loss prevention agents had been able to recover all of the stolen items.

After hearing all of the evidence the officers placed this 48-year-old resident of Marina del Rey under a private person’s arrest and she was taken to jail, where she was charged with petty theft.

Her bail was set at $1,000.
