What’s Hot: Free Shows At Santa Monica Playhouse This Weekend:

The Santa Monica Playhouse 50th Anniversary Part III continues this weekend at 1211 4th Street.

Santa Monica Playhouse’s 50th anniversary celebrations continue this weekend with the “All Join In Free Festival of Theatre.”

It will center around two internationally acclaimed Playhouse musicals.

Moliere’s “The Fools” will be performed on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 6:30 p.m.

The Family Theatre Musical “Dorothy’s Adventures in Oz” will be performed Saturday at 3 p.m. and Sunday at 12:30 p.m.

The schedule will repeat next weekend, Aug. 25-26. All these performances are free to the public.

“The Fools” is a zany, romantic, ever-so-slightly naughty musical comedy mixed with intrigue, sword play and a touch of Monty Python for good measure, based on Moliere’s comedy “Les Facheux.”

“Dorothy’s Adventures in Oz” is joyous family-friendly musical comedy that follows Dorothy and her companions.

Santa Monica Playhouse is located at 1211 4th Street.
