A 36-year-old Santa Monica resident who slashed her boyfriend with a kitchen knife during an argument was arrested on Sunday, Sept. 30.
At 9:45 a.m. officers of the Santa Monica Police Department received a call from the neighbors of a couple who lived in the 2300 block of Third Street because the volume and intensity of the argument heard emanating from that residence was enough to cause some consternation.
When the officers arrived they investigated and learned the girlfriend had become angry with the boyfriend because she could not locate some items she had been looking for.
During the argument that followed her inability to find these items, the girlfriend had grabbed and scratched the boyfriend’s face and arm.
The girlfriend then picked up a kitchen knife and slashed the boyfriend that resulted in a minor cut to his hand.
The boyfriend refused medical assistance at the time.
The girlfriend (possibly ex-girlfriend by now but who knows?) of Santa Monica was arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon and domestic violence.
Her bail was set at $50,000.
