3.3 Magnitude Earthquake Strikes In Santa Monica Bay:

A star symbol marks the spot where the earthquake was centered Monday night at 6:39 p.m.

The U.S. Geological Survey website is reporting a preliminary magnitude 3.3 earthquake in Santa Monica Bay on Monday night, about 10 miles south-southwest of Santa Monica.

It struck at 6:39 p.m. with a depth of 6.95 miles.

In terms of position to other coastal cities, it was nine miles west-southwest of El Segundo, nine miles west of Manhattan Beach, and 10 miles west-northwest of Hermosa Beach.
