Two young men were arrested on Monday, Aug. 12 inside a retail store after trying to use a fraudulent credit card, then being found in possession of methamphetamine.
At 3:40 pm officers of the Santa Monica Police Department went to the retail store located in the 300 block of Colorado Avenue in order to assist a Santa Monica Police Detective who was investigating a fraud case.
When they arrived they learned that the loss prevention agents at the store had detained two suspects for attempting to use a fraudulent credit card.
On top of that, one of the suspects was discovered to be in possession of methamphetamine (also known as speed, ice, clouds, crystal, crystal meth, glass etc).
The responding officers arrested these two, a 19-year-old man of North Hollywood, and a 23-year-old resident of Panorama City, and they were charged with the following offences: Burglary (to commit fraud), identity theft, fraudulent use of an access card, and possession of methamphetamine (precise details about the charges pertaining to each individual were not available at time of press).
Bail was set at $50,000 each.
