In preparation for construction of Phase 2 of the Expo Light Rail Line, work crews will temporary close Olympic Boulevard from Cloverfield Boulevard for the removal of the falsework for the Olympic/Cloverfield Bridge in the City of Santa Monica.
The work is being managed and performed by the Expo Phase 2 design-build contractor Skanska-Rados Joint Venture and its subcontractors.
The full street closures will take place Sunday, Sept. 15 through Thursday, Oct. 24, 2013 from 10 pm to 6 am Sunday through Thursday.
Construction crews will remove all falsework and steel forms used as the support for the cast-in-place concrete bridge that spans over Cloverfield and Olympic Boulevards.
— Westbound Olympic Boulevard traffic will be detoured at Cloverfield Boulevard.
— Eastbound Olympic Boulevard traffic will be detoured at 20th Street.
— Northbound Cloverfield Boulevard traffic will be detoured at 26th Street
— Southbound Cloverfield Boulevard traffic will be detoured at Colorado Avenue for local access or to east Olympic Boulevard to Centinela Avenue for freeway access.
All traffic lanes will be open to through traffic during daytime hours.
Electronic message boards will be used to advise of the closures and manage traffic detours to update commuters as necessary.
Directional signage and/or flagmen will be used to safely direct vehicles and pedestrians around the construction zone.
Parking restrictions will be strictly enforced at all times and signage with specific restrictions will be in place in all construction areas.
