The Laroa Artflow Foundation will host an inspiring charity event next Saturday, Oct. 12 featuring Los Angeles artists Kelcey Fisher, Isabelle Alford-Lago, and Kevin Brewerton.
From 7 pm to 11 pm, the event will feature art and music at The Sulkin Gallery at Bergamot Station Arts Center.
The Laroa Art Foundation is a non-profit charitable organization that funds community based artistic development. It was created by a group of like-minded individuals intent on “broadening horizons, giving back to the community, and opening the minds of today’s dulling, repetitious society.”
Event organizer Nicole Muyingo said the goal of the evening was to encourage the cultural and personal growth of communities by using art as a catalyst and inspiration for change.
“I believe it is very important to keep art and education active in our community,” she said. “In many schools unfortunately when budget cuts are made the first thing to go is art. It is crucial to maintain this form of artistic expression as for many people this is the main source of communicating and truly connecting with their environment.”
The event will donate 30 percent of proceeds to two local high schools in LA to support their art education programs.
Event sponsors include Suerte Tequila, Venice Art Crawl, and JustChill. Entry is $10 donation at the door.
The Sulkin Gallery is located at 2525 Michigan Avenue, Space T6, Santa Monica.
